A New Year with New Adventures

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful, joy-filled holiday season and rang in the new year feeling refreshed and inspired. December was a wonderfully busy and festive way to close out the year, and I’m so grateful for all the support, kind words, and familiar faces along the way.

As we begin 2026, I’m also so excited to share some very special news — my husband Jake and I are expecting twins this coming summer! As my pregnancy progresses, turnaround times for custom portrait commissions may be a little longer than usual, and I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you all for continuing to support my art & my small business as we transition into this exciting new chapter ahead!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Commissions - New 2026 Price Structure

As I prepare for a new year of drawing, I have taken some time to review my commission process, time investment, and the range of artworks I’ve been creating. Over the past year, many of my portraits have grown more detailed and complex, especially as more clients have requested meaningful environments, scenic settings, and special background elements alongside their main subjects.

In order to continue giving every piece the attention, craftsmanship, and care it deserves, I will be introducing an updated pricing structure beginning January 1, 2026. This update includes revised base prices as well as new "background tiers" that reflect the different levels of detail and time involved in more intricate compositions. These changes will allow me to continue offering realistic, high-quality charcoal portraits while maintaining a balanced and sustainable creative workflow.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support of my artwork and my small business. I am deeply grateful for every commission, message, story, and photograph entrusted to me, and I am looking forward to creating many more portraits and memories in the year ahead!

3️⃣ 6-Lesson Package – The best value! Prepay for 6 lessons, save 10%, and use them within 3 months with the option to continue.

All lessons are 90 minutes long and can take place at either my home studio or your home (with travel fees applied as needed). To sign up or learn more, visit the Classes tab or click here!

I’m looking forward to creating together and making your lessons as fun and stress-free as possible!

Celebrating Local Art and the Connections It Creates

In late 2025, I had the joy of taking part in Art – A Community Treasure, hosted by Treasure Mattes at the Cainsville Community Centre. It was such a heartwarming day filled with creativity, connection, and inspiration. I met so many talented local artists, discovered new styles, and had wonderful conversations with visitors from the community.

Even more exciting — a few of my pieces found new homes! Events like this remind me just how special our local art scene is, and how much Brant could benefit from more spaces that celebrate and support creativity. A huge "thank you" to our hosts, and to everyone who took the time to come by and support us! Here’s hoping Art – A Community Treasure becomes an annual tradition!
