Welcome, November! The air is crisp, the tea is hot, and the studio is humming with holiday spirit. As the year winds down, I’m busy preparing for a season full of festive Charcoal Minis, local markets, and heartfelt portrait commissions.
This month is extra special — Charcoal & Teatime Portraiture turns one! 🎉 I’m so grateful for the love and support I’ve received from friends, customers, and fellow artists here in Brantford and beyond. From commissions and print purchases to kind words at markets and online, every bit of encouragement has helped this little dream grow. October was such a fun and bustling month! Between the very first annual "Art-A Community Treasure" show & sale in Brantford, The Mom Market in London and The Lunar Webb Halloween Market back here in Brantford, I had the chance to meet so many wonderful people, connect with other local artists, deliver commissions in person, and soak up all the Halloween magic. From creative costumes to spooky Minis, it was a month full of inspiration and community — and the perfect way to wrap up my very first year in business. |
And my books are officially closed for Christmas commissions! Thank you to everyone who has placed orders and expressed interest in my work, I just think it's so cool that you guys enjoy my work to where you want to put it on your walls or order gifts for your friends and family. Having said that, I AM still taking on commissions, deliveries just won't happen until the New Year.

Halloween may be behind us, but holiday festivities are just ahead!
Celebrating Local Art and the Connections It CreatesOn October 5th, I had the joy of taking part in Art – A Community Treasure, hosted by Treasure Mattes at the Cainsville Community Centre. It was such a heartwarming day filled with creativity, connection, and inspiration. I met so many talented local artists, discovered new styles, and had wonderful conversations with visitors from the community.
Even more exciting — a few of my pieces found new homes! Events like this remind me just how special our local art scene is, and how much Brant could benefit from more spaces that celebrate and support creativity. A huge "thank you" to our hosts, and to everyone who took the time to come by and support us! Here’s hoping Art – A Community Treasure becomes an annual tradition! |
