This high contract charcoal piece traverses the line of softness and boldness, stillness and movement, playfulness and quiet confidence, and how all of these things can blend to create something beautiful. This piece ended up being not just an exploration of tones and materials, but an exploration of femininity. I'm fortunate enough to have a number of strong female role models in my life, all of whom have and continue to empower me to both push myself and know that I am enough, all at once.
